Ambassador Hu conveyed first of all the best wishes from Mr. Li Zhaoxing, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China to Mr. Ojars Kalnins. He had a high opinion of the friendly exchanges and cooperation in recent years between the two legislative bodies of China and Latvia and wished that the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Saeima of Latvia, under the leadership of Mr. Ojars kalnins, will continuously push to make new progresses with the bilateral relations. Mr. Ojars Kalnins expressed his thanks for the best wishes by the Chinese side and said that the exchanges between the two parliaments are conducive to the further enhance of the bilateral understanding and cooperation of China and Latvia comprehensively. The Latvian side will make concerted efforts with the Chinese side to further promote the exchanges and cooperation in the various fields between the two parliaments. Both sides also exchanged views extensively on how to steadily promote the relations of friendship and cooperation at all directions between China and Latvia.
