Minister Wang Jiarui visits Latvia

At the invitation of Latvia Ruling Coalition, H.E. Mr. Wang Jiarui, Minister of International Department of CPC Central Committee visited Latvia from Mar 10th -11th. President Valdis Zatlers, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis,  Parliament Deputy-Speaker Gundars Daudze and Mr. Artis Kampars, Minister of Economics met respectively with the Chinese delatation led by Mr. Wang . The delegation also met with leaders of the Ruling Coalition and "Concord Centre" during their stay in Riga, Capital of Latvia.

 
Wang conveyed greetings from leading officials of the Chinese party and the state to the leaders of the Latvia state and parties. He said that despite the differences in ideology, the CPC is willing to enhance exchanges and cooperation with all lawful parties of Latvia and make joint efforts in promoting the development of the state friendly relations.

 
Wang also briefed the Latvian officials on the economic and social development of China, the 12th five year plan as well as China's harmonious world concept.

 
Leaders of Latvian side expressed their satisfaction with the accomplishment achieved by Latvia and China since the establishment of diplomatic ties 20 years ago. And Latvia will firmly abide by the One-China policy and to work together with China to bulid a relationship of "cooperation for mutual beneficial and win-win harmony", which will bring more tangible benefits to the two peoples.

The two sides also exchanged view of points on international and regional issues.

Ambassor Hu Yeshun accompanied the delegation at these meetings.
