The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China will start to collect fingerprints from all Chinese visa applicants from June 10, 2018.

Applicants from 14 to 70 years old will be obliged to go to the visa section in person to submit their visa applications with fingerprints. Applicants holding diplomatic passports, official delegates with service passports being headed by Latvian vice ministerial or higher level officials invited by Chinese Government, service passport holders applying for long-term residence visa, or with ten incomplete fingerprints are exempted from submitting their fingerprints. Applicants applying for a Chinese visa again will not need to submit their fingerprints once more within the next 5 years.
