Visa Application Procedure

1. Making Online Visa Application

All visa applicants (excluding Hong Kong visa) have to complete the visa application forms online at the China Online Visa Application (COVA) through http://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn, and after successfully submitting the application online, print the confirmation page and the visa application form generated by the system, and sign their names and dates.

2. Scheduling an Appointment

Visa Applicants have to log in the Appointment for Visa Application for Submission (AVAS) through http://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn to schedule an appointment, and print the appointment page. It is advised to make an appointment at least 20 days in advance.

3. Submitting Documents

With confirmation page, application forms, appointment page and all other relevant documents, applicant can come to the Consular Section of the Embassy at the appointment time.

Note: Diplomatic and Service passport holders are exempted from scheduling an appointment. Delegation applying for official visa at the invitation of Central Government of China can make reservation directly through email.
