The Female's Group of the Embassy Participated in the Charity Bazaar

      On November 28, 2010, the Female's Group of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Latvia participated in the 14th Christmas Charity Bazaar at the Radisson Blu Latvia Hotel organized by the International Women's Club Riga. Some 50 organizations representing the various local enterprises and groups, some of the foreign missions accredited to Riga etc. attended the bazaar. Mrs. Lilita Zatlere, the First Lady of the Republic of Latvia attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the bazaar and inspected all the pavilions. She stayed at the Chinese pavilion for a while and made inquires of the items for sale. The local media covered the event.
   
      The Chinese pavilion located at the right side of the main entrance of the hall and attracted large number of audience. The colorful national flags, the traditional Chinese knots, the T-shirts with the design of rabbit (the year of 2011 will be the year of Rabbit) worn by the female staff of the Embassy at the bazaar etc. reflected the strong elements of the Chinese culture and tradition. The great variety of beautiful handicraft articles with strong Chinese flavour, the delicate porcelains of Jing Dezhen, the brocades of antique flavour, the tricoloured glazed potteries of the Tang Dynasty, the lively wistiti and cloth rabbits attracted various audience. The female staff of the Embassy at the bazaar introduced the audience to the special cultural features of the items in detail. The several kinds of delicious food prepared by the Embassy Chef received high opinion from the savourers. The various foreign missions accredited to Latvia prepared items representing the distinctive national characteristics of each country. The business at the Chinese pavilion was one of the most prospering.
   
   
      The Embassy donated all the money gained from the bazaar to the relevant Latvian charity institutions and offered the loving cares.

Some male staffs of the Embassy also attended the bazaar.
