Embassy of China Celebrating the New Year togetherwith the Members of Latvian-Chinese Parliamentary Group

       On December 13, 2010, Mr. Hu Yeshun, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Latvia held a reception with his wife at the Embassy, celebrating the New Year together with the members of the Latvian-Chinese Parliamentary Group (LCPG). Mr. Sergejs Mirskis, Vice President, some other members of LCPG and their spouses nearly 30 people attended the reception.

Ambassador Hu summarized the major progresses of the bilateral relations made so far in this year. He said that the Latvian President, Prime Minister, several Ministers and the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Latvian Saeima respectively paid visits to China this year. The close exchanges of the high-level visits has laid excellent foundation for the cooperation in various fields. The bilateral exchanges in the fields of economy, culture and education etc. are frequent and fruitful. The Chinese Embassy wishes to make concerted efforts with the members of the new LCPG, continuously push to make new progresses in the exchanges between the two parliaments of China and Latvia, and the mutual beneficial cooperation in various fields.

 

Mr. Sergejs Mirskis conveyed the greetings from Mr. Janis Urbanovics, President of LCPG, thanked Ambassador Hu's invitation and expressed that the LCPG is one of the biggest bilateral friendship groups in the Latvian Saeima and has been maintaining excellent communications with the Chinese Embassy. He expressed his profound gratitude to Ambassador Hu for his efforts of attaching great importance to the exchanges with the Latvian parliament since he took up the office in Latvia, and wished to make joint efforts with Ambassador Hu during his tenure to raise the exchanges between the two parliaments of Latvia and China and the bilateral cooperation in various fields to a new height.
