On November 29, H.E. Ambassador Mr. Tang Songgen, at the invitation of Baltic International Academy, delivered a lecture on “China in the New Era and China-EU Relations” in the academy. Mr. Stanislav Buka, Chairman and founder of the Academy, members of the management board, professors, students from various countries, and journalists were present.

H.E. Amb. Tang made a comprehensive and vivid introduction to China's rapid development and the secrets behind it, China's contribution to the world through its development, and China-EU relations. Amb. Tang emphasized that China's rapid development is due to the fact that China has successfully found a path that suits its conditions, namely, Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. Preference to peace is rooted in the genes of Chinese culture, therefore, China will continue to follow the path of peaceful development. Chinese people believe in “a world blessed with harmony and unity” and a community with a shared future for mankind. When China develops itself better, the world will benefit from it. China is committed to advancing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization, and China's development brings opportunity rather than threat. As two major forces, mega markets and great civilizations, the essence of China-Europe cooperation is complementarity of advantages and mutual benefit. China and Europe should be partners, not rivals. After the lecture, H.E. Amb. Tang answered questions from audience. Many participants expressed that they were glad to have a new perspective on China.

Before the lecture, H.E. Amb. Tang discussed with members of the management board academic exchanges, Chinese culture courses in the academy and other fields of cooperation.
