We noticed China-related content in the 2023 Annual Report of the Constitution Protection Bureau (SAB) of Latvia. I would like to point out that the content has no factual basis and is manufactured merely for sensation.

The content fabricates so-called “risks” and overstretches the concept of security and ideology in the normal economic and people-to-people exchanges. This thinking does all harm and no good.

The world economy is like a big ocean that cannot be divided into isolated lakes. The trend toward economic globalization cannot be reversed. Rejecting decoupling and de-risking have become an international consensus. More people have come to realize that the absence of cooperation is the biggest risk. Those who attempt to “de-China” in the name of “de-risking” will make a historic mistake. We hope certain individuals in Latvia stop misrepresenting and smearing China, and make more conducive efforts to enhance mutual understanding between the two countries and peoples for our common benefits. An act of kindness, no matter how trivial, is worth doing, while an act of evil, no matter how small, must be shunned.
