2006-05-08 00:00

Taiwan's New Party investment delegation arrived in Dalian, a port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province, on Wednesday evening.

Upon arrival, the delegation, headed by Taiwan's New Party Chairman Yok Mu-ming, met with Sun Chunlan, deputy secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and secretary of the Dalian city CPC committee.

Sun briefed the guests on the social and economic development in Dalian and invited Taiwan business people to invest in the construction of the city's international navigation center, promising Dalian will offer "the most preferential policy" for them.

Yok said most members of his delegation engage in navigation and he hopes Taiwan would conduct broader cooperation with Dalian in this respect.

The 26-member delegation arrived in Liaoning on Monday. They will stay in Dalian for two days.
